Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Olean Strategies, a 401 Group company (“Olean,” “we,” “us”) collects and uses information through our website and the Olean campaign platform (together, the “Service”). Questions any time: chris@401group.org.
1. Two kinds of data
Data about you — the information you give us when you fill out a form, subscribe, or use your account (name, email, campaign, payment status). For this data, Olean is the controller and this policy applies directly.
Your campaign’s data — voter files, donor records, contact lists, and field data your campaign loads into the platform. Your campaign owns and controls this data; we process it only on the campaign’s behalf to provide the Service. We never sell it, never share it with other campaigns or parties, and never use it for our own marketing.
2. What we collect
- Contact and demo requests. Name, email, campaign, race level, and your message, delivered to us via our form provider (Formspree).
- Subscription and billing. Name, email, campaign, office sought, and subscription status. Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor — they never touch our servers.
- Platform account and usage. Login identity, role, and activity within the platform needed to operate, secure, and support it.
- Campaign data you upload, as described above.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure, and support the Service.
- To respond to inquiries and schedule demos and onboarding.
- To bill subscriptions and metered SMS/email usage.
- To send service and account communications. Marketing email, if any, includes an unsubscribe.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use one campaign’s data to benefit another.
4. Who we share with
Only service providers that make the Service run, under their own privacy commitments: payment processing (Stripe), form handling (Formspree), application hosting and infrastructure (including Base44 and Vercel), and messaging carriers for SMS and email you send. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a corporate transaction with notice to you.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed for legal and accounting purposes. Campaign data is deleted or returned upon written request after your subscription ends, subject to routine backups. Billing records are retained as required by tax law.
6. Security
Access to campaign data is restricted by role-based permissions and row-level security so each campaign sees only its own data. Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 processor. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately at chris@401group.org if you suspect an issue.
7. Your choices and rights
You may access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and cancel your subscription at any time, by emailing us. Depending on your state, you may have additional privacy rights; we honor verified requests consistent with applicable law. If you are on a campaign’s voter or contact list and have questions about that data, contact the campaign, which controls it — we will assist them in honoring your request.
8. Cookies and analytics
The website uses only what it needs to function: essential cookies and the scripts of our payment provider. If we add analytics or advertising measurement later, we will update this policy first.
9. Children
The Service is for campaign professionals and volunteers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new effective date, and note material changes prominently.
